Saturday's Update

Dane woke up with an uneasy stomach, but Dad helped him get a shower so he could come to the surgical floor to visit with Gigi and Grandad and his brother and sisters.  All the showering really rocked his boat, so when he finally met up with us he had buckets in hand.  His tummy finally calmed down after getting a little sick and it really made him more tired, but we found a really nice quiet area with a lot of windows that we had all to ourselves and we were able to visit.  The kids were able to move around and play while Grandad told stories of his youth, which made us all laugh!  Daner got to open a get well / birthday gift from his cousins Camden, Conner, Uncle Rick and Aunt Heather.  Ty was as excited as Daner was for the fun toys and art in the box. Mom and Dad were able to both stay the night with him.  Dane asked questions a lot that evening about what is going on with him and how long it will last.  We were realistic and positive about what is taking place.  He was really emotional about spending his birthday here in the hospital, which is to be expected.  He had another tickling foot episode and his port site was bothering him, but once we got that taken care of he slept great!
